Catalyst Commons – Project Profile 2020

Catalyst Commons is a co-working space built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.
The design consisted of, “natural materials, maybe a little bit of Art Deco inspiration, it has some Scandinavian, mid-century modern, and that’s kind of going back to where we said what feels good in this space.” Danielle Greene, In-House Designer, Dfy Studio
Dfy Studio partnered with Triad Office Interiors to design and select the furniture for the space. Danielle Greene, an In-House Designer at Dfy had this to say about working with Triad on the project,
“If you have a really good partner that’s willing to work and play with the finishes, to keep it budget friendly, because everybody wants that, you can play with those little details of the furniture. If you have a dealer that’s willing to take the time and do that process with you, learn back and forth, from each others skills and preferences. I think that’s a really beneficial way to select your furniture and whos going to provide that furniture.”
“It is a truly collaborative approach, and they were brought on very early, so it was a nice situation to work with the dealer so early on.”
“It was a real honour to be able to design Catalyst137. As an interior designer, when we walk into spaces, Catalyst Commons or any space, we do overanalyze it. I think that’s sort of our thing, you look around, you look at the materials, the finishes, you look at the colours, you feel the vibe of the space, the atmosphere. It gives us our passion, when I walk into a space and I say I can do it better, or this is amazing, I am so inspired by this. I think that is why we do what we do.”
